We&#8217;re putting more polish into our game as we press towards Kickstarter in the Spring. One of the things you may have noticed in our map gif from last week is the storm cloud on the lower-right portion of the map.<\/p>\n<div class=\"gfyitem\" data-title=\"false\" data-autoplay=\"true\" data-controls=\"false\" data-expand=\"false\" data-id=\"BleakDenseCoqui\"><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>That storm cloud represents a Miasma Storm. These storms can be very deadly and should be avoided, as the corrupted seem to thrive in these conditions. Expect to face an overwhelming amount of difficult corrupted enemies when travelling through a Miasma Storm.<\/p>\n<div class=\"gfyitem\" data-title=\"false\" data-autoplay=\"true\" data-controls=\"false\" data-expand=\"false\" data-id=\"TestyConcreteIndianskimmer\"><\/div>\n<p>And you&#8217;re not alone;\u00a0we really hope that these aren&#8217;t the final models of the corrupted too.<\/p>\n<h2>Spell Effects and Sound Improvements<\/h2>\n<p>We&#8217;re improving our audio and visual\u00a0effects on our spells, and this is readily apparent in this short video. The tool will auto-generate town using the road we created (second image)! This tool has come a long way from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Scraping_Bottom\/status\/640746630673641472\" target=\"_blank\">where it started<\/a>\u00a0and we&#8217;re thrilled.<\/p>\n<h2>Inventory Improvements<\/h2>\n<p>Chip has been hard at work improving our <a href=\"https:\/\/fictorum.com\/blog\/2016\/01\/11\/fictorum-update-9-spell-shaping-system-runes-quests-and-ai-improvements\/\" target=\"_blank\">spell shaping system<\/a>, specifically, looking at the runes. Last week, he added the ability\u00a0for runes to be randomly generated. This week, he&#8217;s taken it a step further by allowing those runes to populate the stores throughout the region.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fictorum.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/RuneStore.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-366\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-366\" src=\"https:\/\/fictorum.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/RuneStore.png\" alt=\"Fictorum Rune Store\" width=\"500\" height=\"452\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fictorum.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/RuneStore.png 590w, https:\/\/fictorum.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/RuneStore-300x271.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Looking at the above screenshot, you might have noticed rune color\u2014that&#8217;s brand new for runes as well. The different rune colors indicate which spell school(s) the rune can be applied to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Red: Fire<\/li>\n<li>Blue: Ice<\/li>\n<li>Purple: Storm<\/li>\n<li>Prismatic: Applies to all schools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Keep in mind that you are limited to a certain number of spell runes, so you&#8217;ll need to choose the runes that best suit your spells and play style.<\/p>\n<h2>Next Week<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Greg plans to improve more levels, write more events and quests, and further polish some of the town generation.<\/li>\n<li>Chip plans to enhance spell effects, improve the event system, and make more destructible structures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Talk to you next week!
